Friends of Murphy (FOM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to support the students and staff of John B. Murphy Elementary School.

Our Impact
Refurbished the Murphy gym, including a new floor with volleyball lines, a traverse wall, and custom wall padding
Repaired and refinished the auditorium stage
Replaced flooring in Kindergarten Room 206
Purchased new rugs for the auditorium and school entrances
Purchased sound and lighting equipment to upgrade the auditorium
Provided a theater program for interested 3rd–8th grade students at no cost to families
Supplied Walkathon T-shirts for every student, staff member, and volunteer
Supported student events and experiences throughout the school year, including dances, theater, and other school programs
Provided classroom resources and educational materials for students and teachers
Supported Teacher Appreciation Week and helped celebrate Murphy's staff
Supported community events, including Community Day and the Murphy Farmers Market
Funded construction costs for the Murphy chicken coop
Installed a message board and new planters in front of the school
Created an edible garden
Launched the “We Believe in Murphy School” lawn sign campaign
Through the generosity of Murphy families, staff, and community members, FOM continues to invest in the school and create opportunities that benefit Murphy students today and for years to come.
